Sociocultural approach in mathematics education: Russian and foreign experience

The article examines the application of a sociocultural approach in mathematical education in Russia and abroad. The main directions of its implementation are characterized: the introduction of ethnomathematics elements into the content of educational programs and ethnocentric learning. The periods of formation and development of ethnomathematics are indicated. The article presents organizations that coordinate the study of mathematical knowledge of various peoples, large-scale international events (congresses, conferences, seminars), as well as dissertations related to ethnomathematics.References
