Abstract

The article analyzes the main promising directions and reasons for the transformation of specialized education in foreign schools.. The foundations of the modern understanding of the goals and objectives of its organization are presented. It is noted that scientific and technological progress, challenges of modern society and advanced educational practice presuppose a theoretical explanation and justification of modern approaches in the organization of specialized education, awareness of modern realities at the theoretical level and proposals of scientifically sound ideas for the implementation of a new educational phenomenon. The article considers the socio-cognitive theory of career and the theory of self-determination, which explain the transformations in specialized education. The concept of needs is characterized from the point of view of explaining new approaches to specialized training. The provisions and principles of constructivism, as well as interdisciplinary and competence-based approaches developed on their basis, are presented as well-established principles of organizing specialized education in schools abroad.
