Abstract

The article presents Delphine Patry’s study who is a French teacher, Ed. D. and a specialist in the field of formation and development of student independence. The article highlights the importance of nurturing the independence of students – future citizens of the French state. In this study you can get acquainted with the history of the issue, independent pedagogy and options for independent organization of education, examples of the functioning of some educational institutions that are organized and operate on the basis of the principle of democratization of education.
