Abstract

The topicality of the research can be accounted for by the fact that the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which entered into force in July 2020, affected the defnition of powers and status of the President, the nature of his relations with the supreme bodies of state power, which in turn introduced transformations to the republican form of government, and therefore requires a detailed consideration. The author has set a goal: building on the analysis of the amendments to the Constitution, various expert opinions, to prove that the form of government in Russia has been transformed from a mixed republic to a presidential republic with the elements of a parliamentary one.Having conducted the research the author reaches the objective by arriving at the grounded conclusion that for the moment Russia is a presidential republic with certain elements of a parliamentary one.
