Student Articles: A Significant Contribution to the Advancement of Academic Research (Dedicated to the Anniversary of the Journal “Novelty. Experiment. Traditions”)

Abstract

The Russian academic and practically-oriented journal “Novelty. Experiment. Traditions” (N.Ex.T.) is a unique platform for the students from Russia and around the world, where young researchers can have the results of their studies published. Established in 2015 as “Administrative Consulting,” the publication was transformed in 2020 into a specific platform focused on student research, standing out among other journals for its commitment to papers standards. The journal’s primary mission is to support talented young individuals in their scientific endeavors, aligning with the goals of the Russian Federation’s state youth policy. It publishes research by undergraduate, graduate, and specialist students across a wide range of disciplines: political science, economics, management, sociology, law, history, psychology, philosophy, computer science, and other specialty areas. A rigorous selection process ensures the high quality of materials via professional peer review conducted by the professors and the associate professors not only from the Institute but also from other universities, who are experts in their respective fields, as well as external reviewers specializing in various subject areas. The preparation of the manuscripts accepted for publication is a comprehensive process encompassing all the stages of publishing. The journal is indexed in eLIBRARY.ru (RSCI), “CyberLeninka,” and the international repository SSOAR. Student publications have been successfully cited in some prestigious scientific journals, including the RSCI core and Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) journals. The geographical reach of the authors includes both Russian and overseas universities, e. g., Italy, China. The journal both helps the students start their academic journey, and boost their skills in conducting research, peer review, and publication of materials. The significance of the publication consists in its role in launching young researchers’ academic careers, while fostering their professional skills in research and publications. It has become an integral part of the educational process, promoting the development of critical thinking, research competencies, and a systematic approach to scientific inquiry.
