The current stage of economic development implies the existence of the problem of ownership of intellectual property. For the investor, developer and business entity that plans to use it is the main motivation and is the basis for making decisions regarding investment activities. The legal nature of intellectual property is characterized by ambiguity and a controversial fact in relation to the right holder as a subject of legal relations. All this together creates a sense of uncertainty and uncertainty in economic relations, thereby creating certain problems in innovation activity. Universities and research organizations are invited to choose a model for securing rights to the results of intellectual activity. Moreover, the procedure for securing such rights can be any, the main condition is that it should not contradict the legislation of the country.
