Abstract

Danilevsky’s methodology laid the foundations of a civilizational approach in historical and cultural studies. Until now, the book “Russia and Europe” creates a powerful impetus to the development of social sciences. From the perspective of the theory of cultural and historical types, modern politicians are learning from the past of Russian - European relations and building new ones. In this article, the author will try to prove that Danilevsky’s theory is also relevant and able to explain the essence of the occurring phenomena and events. World issues include: globalization, humanization, and cultural identities
