Abstract

Paper deals with the contradictory nature of civil society development in modern Russia caused by existence of the impressive legislative base allowing citizens and public associations to participate in social and political life on the one hand. On the other hand, data of sociological polls demonstrate that regulations are not demanded by population bulk. The author tries to make an attempt of identification of the reasons determining preservation of the existing practice from the positions of politological approach as well as gives some recommendations promoting establishing more effective interaction of society and power.
